Host, Phil Varone, introduces the opener for the night, Queens Riot.  This all female group will definitely remind you of a bit of rock and roll yesteryear with power packed rock reminiscent of The Runaways, Vixen, Femme Fatale & Pat Benetar.  Their set list included: Never Say Die -Black Sabbath, California Paradise, Blackmail, Gettin’ Hot, and Neon AngelsThe Runaways, Strutter-KISS and Bad ReputationJoan Jett.   Queens Riot members include: Mariah Baldwin / Vocals, Maya Martillini / Lead Guitar, Angelica Santis / Bass Guitar, Tracey Hope / Drums.

The Electric Radio Kings were next to rock the stage!  This powerful Las Vegas based group features ex-L.A. Guns guitarist Stacey Blades.  Packing the vocals is Paul Christiana who has worked with Blades since 2013 with stellar songwriting methodology.  Completing the band is Keith Horne / guitar, Del Cheetah / Bass (Sex Slaves) and Johnny Rude / drums (Salem Saints).  The fit and fire between these guys was amazing and being the first chance to catch their live performance   Dynamic vocals and commanding performance by all which excited the crowd, keeping them ready for more of the rock sound most new bands are missing.    Their set list included Downshifter, Round Go Mary, Grabbing At A Distant Star, Bones To The Crow, Sympathy For Me, Jack Black Flower, Black Cherri Blossom, and Flame.

In-between sets, Host Phil Varone entertained the conflux of fans with giveaways to keep the energy high.  Grand Prize being tickets to Alice Cooper’s show the next night.  Gathered in support for CO-OP was Alice Cooper, wife Sheryl and daughter Calico along with Dash’s wife Morgan, twin sons and new-born son!  What a VIP event for this family! Dash Cooper‘s CO-OP formed in 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. and battled it out musically as they did their own sound and within a few years shared the stage with KISS, Hollywood Vampires and Mötley Crüe.  This band incorporates the talents of Jeremy Tabor / guitar, Justin Swartzentruber / bass, Cory Michalski / drums and of course founder and frontman Dash Cooper / vocals.  Signing with David Ellefson‘s EMPLabel Group and recording their debut album, it was now time to celebrate the band of the night.  Varone has one last introduction and CO-OP takes the stage.  Forceful, compelling, dynamic and with compelling melodic vocals.  The throng of onlookers were completely into the moment.  Their 12 song set list gave the night a sweeping moment of achievement.  Don’t be confused and imagine it’s another Alice Cooper and band on stage.  CO-OP stands their ground with a classic rock meets hard rock meets grunge.  Opening with N.O.W. from their new album, the picture painted here would be the future of seeing these guys performing in an arena;  they are just that good!  Performing several songs from the new release as well as throwing in a couple of covers of Muse‘s Hysteria and Cochise by Audioslave and closing with their own Overdrive.  The night’s set list included N.O.W., Condemned, Secret Scars, Never Whisper The Truth, Hysteria, Cochise, Sleep, Pitiful, Howl, Outlaw, Old Scratch, and Overdrive.  While Alice himself didn’t join his son on stage for this show, it’s all about Dash and CO-OP.  They came, they delivered, they rocked!

PUDDLE OF MUDD, CracKerman & Systemec Pack Vinyl @ Hard Rock

Just another Friday Night in Vegas!  We think not!  When it includes Puddle of Mudd, Systemec and CracKerman, it’s most definitely not just another Friday night in Vegas or anywhere for that matter!  Alice Goldstein Live brought another exceptional event to Vinyl Las Vegas inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Vinyl Las Vegas

Starting Feburary with a bang with two local bands was an excellent choice for fandom!  Systemec opened their eight song set with Skywind.  Immediately welcoming everyone to the evening, bassist, Chukd, asks everyone if they’re ready for the Super Bowl and laughs, stating, “What the hell is the deal of having to say The Big Game!  Is the NFL going to rush in here and fine us for saying The Super Bowl at a live event?”  Continuing on, it’s extreme music from this band!  The five piece band, formed in 2007, have consistently rocked the local scene from Count’s Vamp’d to The House of Blues and have opened for bands such as In This Moment, Saving Able, Tommy Lee, and many more.  Dominating with an extreme stage presence, the band gives it all to each song with the dynamics of any hard pounding industrial rock band; their sound and performance being compared to the likes of Rage Against The Machine.  Front man, Paul Anthony carries the vocals remarkably and the musical elements of Halstein Royseland/guitar, Brian Sylvester/guitar, Chuck Dunnum/bass and Chris Bishop/drums, left the crowd roaring for more.  Set list : Skywind, Deconstruct, Powertrip, 30 Ought, Uprising, Spit, Phenin, and Vegas Baby.

Tyler Lawson’s CracKerman is the next to seize the stage.  This band has a definite exhibition quality of sight and sound.  No ordinary typical rock and roll, but down right grinding alternative white trash rock and punk. The ten song set of unadulterated songs, with a crowd favorite being They Call Me White Trash, however, I’m leaning more toward The Sky Has Fallen On Me.  This was one of the best sets by far by this four piece group, which “erupted” on the Vegas scene in 2014. The pounding sounds from this group are Lawson /vocals & guitar, Kristian Roloff/guitar, Ryan Bixler/bass & Jon Papineau/drums.  Haven’t had the chance to catch a CracKerman show, you’ll be surprised at what you see and hear!  Get ready!  Set list:  So Hollow, Look Underneath, Sick & Tired, Let You Down, Drop Dead Gorgeous, They Call Me White Trash, But You Don’t, They Sky Has Fallen On Me, Unlocking Myself, Grunewald Days.

Over three hours of unprecedented music is unquestionably the way to spend a Friday night!  Julie Pyle, local TV producer and host, announces the seven million album band, Puddle of Mudd.  The crowd is feverish and ready for the headliner!  Wes Scantlin/lead vocals & guitar, Matt Fuller/lead guitar, Dave Moreno/drums and Michael John Adams/bass take the Vinyl stage and begin their set with Control, from their 2001 album, Come Clean.  It is great to see Wes and the band perform without any backing tracks, just pure unfiltered, raw sound!  Playing through crowd favorites such as  ControlBlurry, Famous, Spaceship, Psycho, just to name a few,  it’s non-stop hit after hit. The packed venue thunders with approval on every song.  With all the controversy and backlash Scantlin and the band has received over the last few years, it was clear the singer and the band were a tight unit and enjoyed performing their music and interacting with the audience.  February 2 was night four of their 2018 tour which will take the band throughout the U.S.  To see if Puddle Of Mudd will be coming near you, check out all dates at puddleofmudd.com   If you’ve never had the chance to see them live, do it now!  You’ve ‘Nothing Left To Lose’!  Setlist:  Control, Out of my Head, Stoned, Away From Me, Drift and Die, Bring Me Down, Abrasive, Never Change, Basement, Said, Spaceship, Think, Nobody Told Me, Nothing Left To Lose, Famous, Psycho, Already Gone, Blurry, She Hates Me.

Many thanks to

Alice Goldstein, Systemec, CracKerman, Puddle of Mudd and Vinyl

for a fantastic night!
