SCATTERED

Las Vegas is home to countless artists and musicians.  Popping in to any local bar, lounge or club may just give you a night to remember; entertainment wise that is.

This group of talent performs in several other groups and shows along the Vegas Strip, most of whom you may have already seen, just not aware you have done so. Jeff Tortora, Corky G (Gainsford), Tony Carboney and Jacob Chidester have a combined talent that have crossed time and stages such as Blue Man Group, Tinnitus, Franky Perez, Code Red Riot, Otherwise, Jersey Boys, Tenors of Rock and many, many more. Coming together, they form Scattered. Thursday’s show will cover a vast selection of songs from
Switchfoot to Partridge Family, Prince to Powerman 5000, Nine Inch Nails to Alice in Chains, maybe a little bit of Sublime and a possible original.

Thursday night, January 17, catch Scattereds debut show along with openers Knee High Fox at Count’s Vamp’d. LA based band, Knee High Fox begin at 9:30 p.m. with Scattered taking the stage around 11:00 p.m. We’re positive you’ll hear something you know and something you like.

No excuses! See you there! Eat, Drink, Rock – Count’s Vamp’d!

CO-OP & COOPER – Dash & Alice Album Release & Pre-Party Vinyl @ Hard Rock

CO-OP-Red-Carpet-- - Copy

Vinyl Las Vegas inside The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was the place to be for the Red Carpet Event of the evening!  Alice Goldstein Entertainment / AGE and her amazing team brought Dash Cooper and his band CO-OP to Vinyl for their Album Release Party as well as hosting a pre-party extravaganza for Alice Cooper‘s show the next night at The Pearl Theater at The Palms Hotel & Casino.

The evening began with guests and by-standers gathered to see who was who that would cross the Red Carpet, while the pre-party festivities were kicked off in full rock and roll style with Beau Joie Champagne and Yacht Club Vodka flowing freely backstage compliments of Henry Messinger of Toast Spirits, who Goldstein states “Henry is the best and always takes care of us“.

Notables crossing the carpet included host Phil Varone, former Saigon Kick drummer,  David Ellefson (Megadeth), JD Scott, the ‘third and older brother’ of HGTV fame Property Brothers and Vegas local model/makeup artist, Annalee BelleTerry Ilous (Great White), DJ & Naty Ashba (Pyromantic/Sixx AM/GNR),  Adelita’s Way, Ina Holiday, Maryann Cotton, Chera Leigh, Devil In Disguise, Brianna and Bonnie Mercado Jeff Asenbauer (Maddad Promotions), Stoney Curtis (Stoney Curtis Band/Count’s 77), Barry Barnes (Stoney Curtis Band/Count’s 77) Shon Mckee (Stoney Curtis Band), Mike Varney (Producer),  John Gist (Vegas Rock Revolution), Jason & Janea Ebs (Jet Velocity/Ecotonic), Dan Laudo (Big On Mars/Prong), Frank DiMino (Angel), Geo Garcia (Driven/Gone2Morrow Productions), Calico Cooper (Alice Cooper Band), Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper Band/Beasto Blanco), Queens Riot, Electric Radio Kings, CO-OP, and Alice Cooper and family.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Host, Phil Varone, introduces the opener for the night, Queens Riot.  This all female group will definitely remind you of a bit of rock and roll yesteryear with power packed rock reminiscent of The Runaways, Vixen, Femme Fatale & Pat Benetar.  Their set list included: Never Say Die -Black Sabbath, California Paradise, Blackmail, Gettin’ Hot, and Neon AngelsThe Runaways, Strutter-KISS and Bad ReputationJoan Jett.   Queens Riot members include: Mariah Baldwin / Vocals, Maya Martillini / Lead Guitar, Angelica Santis / Bass Guitar, Tracey Hope / Drums.

The Electric Radio Kings were next to rock the stage!  This powerful Las Vegas based group features ex-L.A. Guns guitarist Stacey Blades.  Packing the vocals is Paul Christiana who has worked with Blades since 2013 with stellar songwriting methodology.  Completing the band is Keith Horne / guitar, Del Cheetah / Bass (Sex Slaves) and Johnny Rude / drums (Salem Saints).  The fit and fire between these guys was amazing and being the first chance to catch their live performance   Dynamic vocals and commanding performance by all which excited the crowd, keeping them ready for more of the rock sound most new bands are missing.    Their set list included Downshifter, Round Go Mary, Grabbing At A Distant Star, Bones To The Crow, Sympathy For Me, Jack Black Flower, Black Cherri Blossom, and Flame.

In-between sets, Host Phil Varone entertained the conflux of fans with giveaways to keep the energy high.  Grand Prize being tickets to Alice Cooper’s show the next night.  Gathered in support for CO-OP was Alice Cooper, wife Sheryl and daughter Calico along with Dash’s wife Morgan, twin sons and new-born son!  What a VIP event for this family! It was an incredible sight to see them gather on the red carpet and honored to have witnessed the moment.

Cooper-Family-David-Ellefson-Cooper-Band-Red-Carpet

Dash Cooper‘s CO-OP formed in 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. and battled it out musically as they did their own sound and within a few years shared the stage with KISS, Hollywood Vampires and Mötley Crüe.  This band incorporates the talents of Jeremy Tabor / guitar, Justin Swartzentruber / bass, Cory Michalski / drums and of course founder and frontman Dash Cooper / vocals.  Signing with David Ellefson‘s EMPLabel Group and recording their debut album, it was now time to celebrate the band of the night.  Varone has one last introduction and CO-OP takes the stage.  Forceful, compelling, dynamic and with compelling melodic vocals.  The throng of onlookers were completely into the moment.  Their 12 song set list gave the night a sweeping moment of achievement.  Don’t be confused and imagine it’s another Alice Cooper and band on stage.  CO-OP stands their ground with a classic rock meets hard rock meets grunge.  Opening with N.O.W. from their new album, the picture painted here would be the future of seeing these guys performing in an arena;  they are just that good!  Performing several songs from the new release as well as throwing in a couple of covers of Muse‘s Hysteria and Cochise by Audioslave and closing with their own Overdrive.  The night’s set list included N.O.W., Condemned, Secret Scars, Never Whisper The Truth, Hysteria, Cochise, Sleep, Pitiful, Howl, Outlaw, Old Scratch, and Overdrive.  While Alice himself didn’t join his son on stage for this show, it’s all about Dash and CO-OP.  They came, they delivered, they rocked!

CO-OP album available in stores now!

Last In Line with Code Red Riot at Count’s Vamp’d

April has become an anniversary month, so to speak, for Last In Line to return to Vegas and blow down the walls.  This year the walls at Vamp’d took a double blow from a huge local favorite, Code Red Riot!  This was not your typical Friday the 13th Party!

vampd-last-in-line-april-2018.jpg

Code Red Riot is ‘Corky G’ Gainsford /vocals, Tyler ‘Taz’ Azure / guitar, Jon ‘Woz’ Wozniak / bass, Anthony ‘Ant’ Raya / drums.  This foursome is a force to reckon with and always a trip for the musical senses.  I last saw them at Las Rageous 2017 and were eager to see them perform again after missing their last show at the House of Blues.  Their full rock sound with Gainsford‘s vocal talents has rocketed this band as a local favorite; it’s like watching a smooth running machine powered by adrenaline and driven by conviction!  Be sure to check out their single Living Low  and request it on your local airwaves!  Available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.

Original Dio members Vivian Campbell and Vinny Appice formed Last In Line in re-formed in early 2012 with very few rehearsals before their first gig. I got the info directly from Campbell in a prior interview in 2013.  “We’ve been playing around about a year, but no rehearsals.  We get together about once every two months for about three hours since the first day we got back together.   We could have probably done a gig that night; it was like riding a bicycle.”   The band was very well-known for their extreme power and volume back in the day and Campbell stated that had not changed.  “Vinny is the loudest drummer I’ve ever played with.  That was the nature of the band it back in the day.  We were of one of those old-fashioned, old school, loud rock bands.  That was before anyone used an ear monitor or anything fancy like that. Fortunately, Ronnie Dio was the kind of singer who had the lung capacity to be able to belt it out over a band that loud.  Honestly compared to the volume of Def Leppard, it is nothing compared to the volume coming off the stage of Last In Line.   Andrew Freeman stepped into the role of vocalist, along with Erik Norlander on keyboards and Phil Soussan on bass, who replaced the late Jimmy Bain.

Last-In-Line-Vampd-April-2018-Big-Time-Photo-8

Just as Campbell states, Last In Line is loud and intense.  Starting their night with Stand Up and Shout, the full house roars in approval.  Freeman is spot on with his vocals, in fact, the entire band is killing it!  Fast paced, pounding and loud; the only way to describe Last In Line.  I could go on telling things those as a Dio aficionado or middle of the road follower would even know, but what’s the point!  Everyone knows Vivian Campbell shreds like there’s no tomorrow; Vinny Appice slays the drums and the remaining members are such an attribute to what Last In Line is all about; the music.

Last-In-Line-Vampd-April-2018-Big-Time-Photo-9

We’re certainly doing this for the right reasons, we enjoy playing together and we’re doing it for the love of the music.  Ronnie didn’t write those guitar licks.  I get so frustrated sometimes at people’s ignorance about this.  They weren’t there, they don’t know the situation and no situation is ever black and white.  Those are our records.  We wrote those songs with Ronnie.  It may have been his name, Dio, on those albums, but he didn’t create that music on his own.  It is our heritage and this is us reclaiming it.” It was our music and nobody has more of a right to play it than us, and frankly no one is ever going to play it better than us.  This is the closest as anyone is ever going to get to the original Dio band.”   – Vivian Campbell

PUDDLE OF MUDD, CracKerman & Systemec Pack Vinyl @ Hard Rock

Just another Friday Night in Vegas!  We think not!  When it includes Puddle of Mudd, Systemec and CracKerman, it’s most definitely not just another Friday night in Vegas or anywhere for that matter!  Alice Goldstein Live brought another exceptional event to Vinyl Las Vegas inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Vinyl Las Vegas

Starting Feburary with a bang with two local bands was an excellent choice for fandom!  Systemec opened their eight song set with Skywind.  Immediately welcoming everyone to the evening, bassist, Chukd, asks everyone if they’re ready for the Super Bowl and laughs, stating, “What the hell is the deal of having to say The Big Game!  Is the NFL going to rush in here and fine us for saying The Super Bowl at a live event?”  Continuing on, it’s extreme music from this band!  The five piece band, formed in 2007, have consistently rocked the local scene from Count’s Vamp’d to The House of Blues and have opened for bands such as In This Moment, Saving Able, Tommy Lee, and many more.  Dominating with an extreme stage presence, the band gives it all to each song with the dynamics of any hard pounding industrial rock band; their sound and performance being compared to the likes of Rage Against The Machine.  Front man, Paul Anthony carries the vocals remarkably and the musical elements of Halstein Royseland/guitar, Brian Sylvester/guitar, Chuck Dunnum/bass and Chris Bishop/drums, left the crowd roaring for more.  Set list : Skywind, Deconstruct, Powertrip, 30 Ought, Uprising, Spit, Phenin, and Vegas Baby.

Tyler Lawson’s CracKerman is the next to seize the stage.  This band has a definite exhibition quality of sight and sound.  No ordinary typical rock and roll, but down right grinding alternative white trash rock and punk. The ten song set of unadulterated songs, with a crowd favorite being They Call Me White Trash, however, I’m leaning more toward The Sky Has Fallen On Me.  This was one of the best sets by far by this four piece group, which “erupted” on the Vegas scene in 2014. The pounding sounds from this group are Lawson /vocals & guitar, Kristian Roloff/guitar, Ryan Bixler/bass & Jon Papineau/drums.  Haven’t had the chance to catch a CracKerman show, you’ll be surprised at what you see and hear!  Get ready!  Set list:  So Hollow, Look Underneath, Sick & Tired, Let You Down, Drop Dead Gorgeous, They Call Me White Trash, But You Don’t, They Sky Has Fallen On Me, Unlocking Myself, Grunewald Days.

Over three hours of unprecedented music is unquestionably the way to spend a Friday night!  Julie Pyle, local TV producer and host, announces the seven million album band, Puddle of Mudd.  The crowd is feverish and ready for the headliner!  Wes Scantlin/lead vocals & guitar, Matt Fuller/lead guitar, Dave Moreno/drums and Michael John Adams/bass take the Vinyl stage and begin their set with Control, from their 2001 album, Come Clean.  It is great to see Wes and the band perform without any backing tracks, just pure unfiltered, raw sound!  Playing through crowd favorites such as  ControlBlurry, Famous, Spaceship, Psycho, just to name a few,  it’s non-stop hit after hit. The packed venue thunders with approval on every song.  With all the controversy and backlash Scantlin and the band has received over the last few years, it was clear the singer and the band were a tight unit and enjoyed performing their music and interacting with the audience.  February 2 was night four of their 2018 tour which will take the band throughout the U.S.  To see if Puddle Of Mudd will be coming near you, check out all dates at puddleofmudd.com   If you’ve never had the chance to see them live, do it now!  You’ve ‘Nothing Left To Lose’!  Setlist:  Control, Out of my Head, Stoned, Away From Me, Drift and Die, Bring Me Down, Abrasive, Never Change, Basement, Said, Spaceship, Think, Nobody Told Me, Nothing Left To Lose, Famous, Psycho, Already Gone, Blurry, She Hates Me.

Many thanks to

Alice Goldstein, Systemec, CracKerman, Puddle of Mudd and Vinyl

for a fantastic night!
